The recruit academy is designed to teach entry level fire fighters the essential skills required to carry out basic fire fighting operations. Classes are during weekends and over 2/3 months. The typical academy requires a minimum of 86 hours of dedication. To find out more about the recruit academy training schedule and subjects, you may download our example schedules

Volunteers respond to emergency incidents, attend weekly training on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm and commit to attend some weekend training. All training for fire certifications, both structural and wildland, and emergency medical training will be paid for by the fire department, you may earn college credits in these fields. Applicants must pass the department's membership requirements which are available upon request.
